Years ago, I “Diversified the Portfolio of Me.”
I saw that the future was not certain.
Markets shift, companies close, layoffs happen.
And life is harder for women and a women of color.
I wanted a path that was thriving for me.
It needed to prioritize my health and well-being.
Because healthy women can drive societal change.
I knew I had talents in diverse areas.
So, I took advantage of all of them to build my empire.
Here’s how I did it:
-Believed that I could do it.
-Didn’t let anyone tell me otherwise.
-Strategized how I could put my talents to use.
-Developed a portfolio of products and services.
-Turned them all into revenue generating streams.
-Tested, Tracked & Tweaked to hit optimal outcomes.
-Continued to learn from the entire process & still do.
Today, I run my own company offering both:
-Products: a best-selling book, 2nd one in the works.
-Services: Fractional CMO, Advisor, Global Speaker.
I leveraged my strengths to my advantage.
So that I can:
-Work on purposeful things,
-That bring me joy,
-To live the life I want,
-And thrive in work-health-life.
That’s what I call, “Diversifying the Portfolio of Me.”
You can do this too. You just need to believe you can.
Start small, ideate, experiment, build from there.
Keep at it. Take rest. Be adaptable to ups & downs.
It’s all been worth it to me to know this:
“Ownership of your life is the ultimate reward.”
